I saw you my son, I saw you my daughterI saw you crying for happiness, and I listened for your prayer but I never heard it
Instead you mentioned your wishes and strengthened yourself
Albeit by yourself
I saw you hungry, I saw you thirsty
I stretched my arm and you never noticed
I knocked your senses but you closed your doors
I wanted to show you where to be full, but you strengthened yourself
Albeit by yourself
I even saw you behind that corner
Rolling the scroll of ganja
Puffing it up in the skies as if to let me smoke too
I saw you staggering in that madness but you strengthened yourself
Albeit by yourself
I saw you around the table of joy
Dining with friends, washing your brains in beer
I saw you sinking deep in confusion
Before I arrived, you strengthened yourself
Albeit by yourself
I saw you coveting that lady
I heard your heart saying you love her
I saw you coveting that muscular man
I checked your imagination, it said he was good for you
I knocked your senses, but your strengthened yourself and went ahead
Albeit by yourself
I even saw you in the process
Spoiling your own self at the price of pleasure
Buying the killer disease at the price of joy
You smiled and gave thanks
Albeit not to me
Now I see you in pain, suffering the consequences,
I mercifully draw near to knock your senses again
Yes, I hear you praying in response
You seek my divine intervention, my miraculous healing
I offer my hand once again, this time not to heal you
But to pull you home
